Since I can remember, cars and racing have always been something I've been passionate about, fortunately I was able to turn my passion and hobby into my small business Kemp Motorsports. Over the last few years our racing focus has been specifically geared to the GM Players Series Camaro and Firebirds from 1986-1992. With lots of great Canadian talent running in that series like Ron Fellows, Richard Spenard, Kenny Wilden, etc etc , it was the premier race series in Canada at the time. Not only did some famous racers get their start in these cars, but they could still be driven on the street. With lots of internet searching and road trips all across Canada I have been able to find and save some very rare cars and restore them back to there former glory.
The 1991 EDS tribute car, we get to track a few times a year with VARAC.
The 1989 MOTOMASTER #1 car driven by Richard Spenard has been restored and now does car shows and the odd Sunday drive.
The 1991 GM Promo car has been sold to a fellow enthusiast in BC.
The 1986 Trans-AM, the rarest of them all being only one of 22 made and one of just 2 in Black. It still has all the original race parts, both the numbers matching engine and blueprinted race engine plus the Ultra Rare Brembo brakes. With just over 3,000km it patiently waits its turn to be restored.
There is a lot of fun in finding and restoring these cars but driving them to car shows and spending some time on the track is the best.
We are always on the hunt for Players cars and parts to help supply other fans of the Players Racing Series with some hard to find pieces and provide assistance with restorations.
Please feel free to give us a call or e-mail if you are looking for any help with a car or if you are selling or know of any Players items for sale, referrals are greatly appreciated.
